Introducing our new Pre-Primary and Tiny Stars program!

We are so excited to offer our students a fabulous introduction to the world of dance and song supported by the world renowned ATOD syllabus.

Offering classes in Ballet, Jazz and Tap, our Pre-Primary and Tiny Star classes allow students to develop musicality, co-ordination and fine and gross motor skills under the guidance of our nurturing and supportive teaching staff.

We believe in creating a fun and imaginative environment for our students, encouraging self expression and confidence while ensuring they learn the proper foundations in dance and song.

So if your child is twirling around the house or belting out the latest ARIA, email or call us now to book in your free trial class....but beware....reports do entail that come concert time, their will be multiple family concert viewings and Diva like behaviour as each performer takes to the stage in what we ensure, will be a memorable performance.

A CLASS BREAKDOWN

Ballet
Tutus, pointe shoes and ballet buns! Ballet is a stunning and breathtakingly beautiful art form and we at Dancefusion believe it is the core of dance! It is usually the first dance style learnt as every dancer dreams of pointe shoes! And for our boys, the ability to jump higher than the sky.
At Dancefusion, we study the world renowned syllabus, A.T.O.D (Australian Teachers Of Dancing).
Our students learn short and engaging exercises on the Barre and in the Centre while also working on classical routines to build muscle memory, technique and discipline.

Tap
Tap is a form of dance where dancers use their feet as percussive instruments. They wear shoes specially designed with metal plates on the toe and heel. There are many different styles of tapping however the two most noted are Rhythm Tap and Broadway Tap. We love hearing our very own happy feet dancing around the studio to all styles of music while creating fun and enjoyable rhythms.

Jazz
Jazz embodies many aspects of dance. It has been influenced by ballet, modern, tap, hip-hop, African dance and many more styles. Jazz pulls from all dance styles mixing them together to create a high energy style. From Broadway to Commercial Jazz, it is no wonder Jazz is one of the most popular forms of Dance!

Lyrical
The basis of lyrical is ballet but also encompasses both jazz and modern. It is expressive, simultaneously subtle and dynamic.  It focuses on conveying musicality and emotion through movement. Lyrical encourages students to use self expression and is a lovely way for students to express a story and emotions through movement.

Hip Hop
Hip Hop is an urban dance style also known as Street Dance. Hip Hop is edgy, raw and intense. Hip Hop is extremely popular and is often seen in many music video clips. Students will love the fast paced and enjoyable class dancing to all forms of music in a respectful and encouraging environment.

Contemporary
Contemporary dance embodies ballet, modern, jazz and lyrical. It uses technique such as ballet as its fundamentals and creates many more greater movements that do not adhere to the strict rules of ballet and modern. There are different categories of contemporary dance such as Contemporary Ballet and Contemporary Jazz. Contemporary dance is often danced to all types of music and in bare feet with non-traditional costumes.

Musical Theatre
We have a fabulous Musical Theatre program for all ages. Our Junior and intermediate classes learn the art of becoming the ultimate triple threat performer, studying acting, song and dance! All equally important to becoming a confident and well polished performer. Our Senior Musical Theatre classes focus on similar aspects, while also focusing on audition preparations and professional performances.
All classes work towards yearly performances whether it be the school musical production or our Senior Cabaret at Theatre Works in St Kilda.

Acrobatics

Think flips, cart wheels and gymnastics style movements. Our students are literally flipping around the studio creating amazing moves in which we could only dream of! We focus on conditioning and strength work to ensure a safe practice of all movements.

WHAT DO WE RECOMMEND?

Picking classes can be overwhelming! Don't worry, we are here to help.

We are determined to create an individual and personalised experience for each student at Dancefusion, so please get in touch with us so we can create the perfect schedule and program for you.

We usually recommend starting with something your child is extremely passionate about, or a style they are familiar with. The three most popular classes to begin with are Ballet, Jazz & Tap. However it is an individual choice.
